Cool Down Your Hot Head (Part 2)
In the Rocky Mountains, hunters occasionally find pairs of interlocked deer horns. When the horns of fighting deer get jammed together and the animals cannot separate them, they die. Anger can cause us to lock horns with others. And the consequences can be just as disastrous. Paul knew that in order to properly manage their lives and relationships, the believers in Ephesus needed to recognize a few things about anger. This is the second of two articles outlining his advice.

She Told Two Friends…
There were a series of TV commercials in the 1970s that featured a young woman who cheerfully chirped that she “told two friends about Faberge Organic Shampoo, who told two friends, who told two friends, and so on, and so on…” while her image multiplied relentlessly on the screen.
The commercial was annoying, but the principle [...]
True Woman
Several years ago, I was lounging around with Nancy Leigh DeMoss and a couple of her friends, sipping hot mugs of tea in her living room. Though the atmosphere was casual, the conversation was anything but. We talked about the history of the women’s movement and feminism… about philosophy, theology and doctrine. We cried about [...]

Girls Gone Wild!
Girls have gone wild! Our culture has produced a whole generation of Jungle Janes – breast-baring, butt-kicking, in-your-face, my-way-or-highway female aggressors. Countering this trend is the biblical image of a beautiful godly woman. Here are “21 Points of Contrast” to help you compare and contrast the two. Download and print the powerpoint outline. Read the [...]

Control Anger before it Burns you (Part One)
All of us get angry from time to time. The Bible has valuable instruction about how to manage this volatile emotion. This is the first of two articles outlining what the Apostle Paul taught his friends in Ephesus about anger.
“For the anger of man does not [...]
Curing Your Ill Will
It’s game time. The coach is starting his favorite players. For what seems like the hundredth time this season, your child is warming the bench. You sit in the stands with the other parents and dutifully clap and cheer - but inside, you harbor the malicious hope that your child’s teammates will play poorly, that [...]

New Website Design
Building a new website is sure a lot of work! I’ve transferred my site to a new ultra-secure server. I have a fresh new look (At least my website does!). The design is finalized, the templates are set, a new blog-based content management system is in place…. (phew!!!) There are just a few glitches and wrinkles to iron out [...]

Forget Me Not
Tiny blue flowers, called “forget-me-nots” grow profusely in the heights of the Rocky Mountains in the summer. They can be found tucked into every nook and cranny - sometimes growing out of cracks in the face of the rock. This is a poem I wrote one summer as I reflected on the name of these vivid blooms. They , together [...]

Tit-for-Tat
Tit-for-Tat is the name of a Laurel and Hardy slapstick comedy released in 1935. In the film, Stan & Ollie open a hardware shop right next to Charlie Hall’s grocery store. A misunderstanding occurs and Hall takes revenge on Stan & Ollie. Stan & Ollie retaliate. The back-and-forth antics start with silly attacks such as [...]
